How to update rsync to the latest version 3.1.1-1

Richard

I had the task of migrating 63TB of data from an old backup server to a new array. The standard versions of Rsync that comes with Centos 6 and 7 do not support "Total Progress" Feature:

rsync -a --info=progress2 SOURCE DESTINATION

Here is how I updated rsync.

Centos 7 64Bit

yum install http://mirror.hmc.edu/rpmforge/redhat/el7/en/x86_64/extras/RPMS/rsync-3.1.1-1.el7.rfx.x86_64.rpm

Centos 6 64bit

yum install http://mirror.hmc.edu/rpmforge/redhat/el6/en/x86_64/extras/RPMS/rsync-3.1.1-1.el6.rfx.x86_64.rpm
